Borders Forest Trust need you! They have their inaugural tree planting day at Talla tomorrow (Saturday 30th April). Here’s the information:

We are meeting at Talla Linnfoot at 10.30am, walking up to the bothy where we will gather, collect a few trees each and then plant them nearby in suitable spots under the supervision of two of our expert trustees and then gather to eat our lunch with tea and coffee provided.

All are very welcome. This is a day when anyone of any age can take part.

We expect to be finished by 3.00 at the latest if not before but if the weather is as nice as forecast and anyone wishes to walk on up the Gameshope or go up to the Talla valley they will be very welcome.

Remember to bring a pack lunch.  There are no facilities for catering at the bothy so realistically we are only able to provide tea, coffee and biscuits brewed on the spot.

In the event of bad weather (good for planting trees but not so good for the planters) we will gather for lunch either in the barn or over the river in the bothy via the bridge.
