DESCRIPTION:Connecting Threads Artist in Residence Rebecca Beinart and chef Nicola Orr invite you to join a community meal\, tasting experimental recipes inspired by the bogs and peatlands of the Upper Tweed. During the meal you’ll be invited to taste food and drinks that play with the colours\, textures\, smells and chemistry of bogs – including deep umami iron flavours\, sharp acidity\, and sweet treacherous softness. \nThere will be opportunities to share your own stories and experiences of local bogs and peatlands and the Upper Tweed landscape – we’ll be asking\, ‘what does it mean to take care of this land and water?’ The meal will take us on a journey through different aspects of this landscape\, the magic of peat\, the ecological & human communities the bog holds\, and relationships between land and water.
