Great News – After continued lobbying by Tweedsmuir Community Council over recent years Scottish Borders Council has announced a resurfacing programme for the Fruid Road between Tweedsmuir crossroads and the Forestry road entrance (The Rigg) south of Menzion Farm . Approximately £250,000 has been allocated to resurface this section of the road. As well as a new surface the works will include edge widening, associated drainage works and the construction of additional passing places.  The project is being co-funded by Scottish Borders Council and the Strategic Timber Transport Fund and forms the largest single road project in the Scottish Borders under this funding programme.

Details of the scheduling of the works are yet to be finalised but local residents will be fully informed by  Scottish Borders Council in advance of the start of the project.
